The Seven Stars

Quiet location, good food, room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.

Mattress was a little uncomfortable

The staff were brilliant, extremely polite and very helpful.

Really lovely stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially when my arrival was delayed. They arranged a smooth self check-in for me late at night and even provided a fridge in my room for medication, which I really appreciated. The room was comfortable, everything was clean, and the location was convenient for getting into Durham

Nothing significant — I had a very positive experience overall

The property was well located within a couple of miles to Durham centre.

When we arrived, we both thought it looked a little run down from the outside but pleasantly surprised that the room was bigger than most and clean and tidy. Unfortunately the shower seemed to have no pressure but it was fine for a night. The food was very disappointing, they didn’t have a couple of items on the menu and when we did order our meal, the chef only had enough dauphinoise potatoes for one portion so we were offered garlic mash as an alternative for one dish. The food arrived cold, there was barely any mushroom sauce over the chicken and the garlic mash was so dry I think it may have been made from a packet. To be fair the staff were lovely and tried to be helpful but the main let down was the food.
