We love visiting Highlands several times a year and Spotted Owl is now our new favorite cabin. It is so private and comfortable. The kitchen has top rated appliances including a farmhouse sink and an induction stove and everything you need to cook meals. The weather was rainy all 3 days of our stay but that did not matter to us as we loved staying inside this cabin cozying up next to the wood burning fireplace, reading books and drinking morning coffee from the huge back covered porch. So many extras are provide like gourmet local coffee, premium hand soap, shampoo and body wash. The master bed and bedding is so comfy. Really everything about this cabin is special. Holly our host was so quick with communications and provided us with great instructions on how to walk to town which is an easy 10 min stroll through beautiful woods. We can hardly wait to come back!

Great place and great location! Loved sitting by the cozy fire and the convenience of main street. Would highly recommend!

Cabin in the woods feeling but minutes from Highlands. All modern appliances. Fans are modern and quiet. Lowest temp was 55 but heat barely came on so I suspect well insulated. New windows and appliances. We didn’t watch TV but very small TV. Good response from management when needed.

The cabin has been nicely remodeled with vinyl plank flooring, wood paneling, appliances and farm sink. The linens are nice and towels fluffy. The bedrooms are downstairs (as now noted in the description-wasn’t the case when we rented) and the stairs are narrow and steep. There is no comfortable seating in the LR….one wingback chair, one cain back, a sofa and a very small side table. There were no ottomans, foot rests or coffee table. If you are looking for a place close to town to sleep, and will be outside most of the time, it’s a place to stay. We were there in February and found it too uncomfortable to spend our days inside - we left after the first night.
