Meisya Cottage

The accommodation was absolutely fantastic. We can honestly say that this was probably the cleanest place we stayed at on the whole of Gili T. The room was a lovely surprise because it was difficult to tell from the photos exactly what to expect, but in reality, it was even nicer than in the pictures. The room was very clean and was cleaned every day, including having the bed made. Having a fridge in the room was also a great bonus. The bathroom was very nice and modern by Bali standards, with new fixtures and fittings, including a new tap and a handheld bidet spray next to the toilet. The owner was extremely helpful and thoughtful. When we arrived, he immediately showed us a simple trick to improve the water pressure in the shower - turning the bathroom tap on and off for a moment makes the shower pressure work perfectly. It was really helpful to know this in advance. One of the best things was that the owner lent us bicycles completely free of charge, which was amazing and made getting around the island so much easier. He also lent us snorkeling masks and a snorkel for free, which was another fantastic bonus. We also asked if we could get a waterproof phone pouch, and he arranged one for us and even brought it directly to our room so we could buy it from him. The service and hospitality were excellent throughout our stay.

The area around the accommodation was otherwise very quiet and peaceful. The only downside was being woken up every morning at around 5:30 a.m. by the call to prayer from the mosque. It was very loud and lasted around 10 minutes. However, this is obviously not the accommodation’s fault. The call to prayer can be heard throughout the whole island, so it doesn’t really matter where you stay on Gili T - you will most likely hear it anyway.

Flott vertskap, hjelpsomme og snille. Stort og rent rom med bad. Overnattingsstedet ligger veldig sentralt, men samtidig unna all støy/party gaten. Kan både låne sykkel og leie el-sykkel (som er billigere enn hvis man leier ellers av andre).

Shower will only have strong pressure and hot water for about five hours during the day, and if you miss that window, the water pressure will be super low and the temperature lukewarm at best. And owners will tell you there's nothing they can do about that cuz that's how it is for most places on the island. 3% charge for credit cards, so big lump payment of cash if you want to save a little;
