It deserves the highest marks for the beautiful setting along the river. We loved sunsets each night. The kitchen is well stocked and beds all comfortable. The challenging part was the well water. It’s strong metallic tasting and brown-ish. We ended up buying drinking water to cook with and drink. The upstairs rooms are comfortable. The twin bedroom downstairs was musty/moldy - both people sleeping down there woke up congested and sneezing, which would clear up after they got outside. They couldn’t ventilate the room at night because no screen on their window. Downstairs AC is great and we were comfortable with the fans upstairs at night with the screened windows. If the water had a reverse osmosis filter for at least drinking and cooking that would be a big improvement. We didn’t use the lovely tub upstairs - metallic brown-ish water didn’t sound relaxing. Again, the location and so much of the place is worth it but we wouldn’t come again without a plan for water and skipping the main floor bedroom. PS - better signage with the house number by the road would make it easier to spot as you are driving - it’s easy to miss.

The views are lovely, the decor is quaint, but I would not stay here again. For the price, it should have been clean. The whole house could stand a deep cleaning - cobwebs in every corner, brown (formerly white) bathroom grout, visible dust bunnies and dust covering vent registers. We were constantly harassed by stink bugs, climbing in through drafty window seals and flying about. It didn’t feel clean. Lighting was also very dim throughout the home, except for the kitchen. It’s got potential, but needs a deep clean to make it worth its price.
