DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Galveston Beach

Great view; friendly staff; very clean. Only complaint would be only 1 very slow elevator for the entire hotel. Also the one night we were tired and were going to eat in the restaurant at the hotel they closed early without notice leaving us to scramble outside the hotel for food with a very tired toddler. Overall we had a very fun vacation.

I’ve stayed at this location on 3 different occasions over the past several years and I’ve always been very happy each time. I particularly enjoy the pool bar(Longboards). The bartender, Tyler, was great; very friendly and personable, and great service. I definitely plan on making future stays.

The property is a little dated with the “Howard Johnson” orange doors. One of the elevators was disabled making it a slow process to get to your room. Besides that, the property was nice and readily accessible to the beach, the pier and restaurants. The needs were comfortable and the room stayed nice and cool. The front counter receptionists were ALL super nice and helpful! We would not hesitate to stay here again when cruising out of Galveston in the future!
