Alma San Diego Downtown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Pleasant surprise as I had no expectations. The hotel decor is super cute, staff beyond friendly and helpful and the room was quite large, great bathroom/shower, bed super comfy and bedroom spacious with everything one could need. Location is great if you want to venture out to Gaslamp district or Little Italy. Short rides away from other fun areas. Only downside are the homeless in area.

Overall, we enjoyed our two-day stay. We were a bit disappointed to learn that the "included breakfast" was actually a $50 credit for both of us, which, at the hotel's prices, covered only two coffees, one juice, and a single breakfast entrée to share. To be fair, the portion was generous and enough for both of us, but we would have appreciated a wider selection. We were also a bit concerned that the room rate was higher than the price quoted when we booked, especially since the hotel was already holding a $150 security deposit. It would have been nice if the room charge had simply matched the booking price, with the security deposit covering any additional charges. In the end, though, the total cost came out exactly as we had expected.

Great location, staff and amenities. Food along with drinks were excellent, I would strongly recommend a stay here to family and friends.

Beautiful place. Friendly staff.
