Norwich Inn

It’s a typical inn—nothing more, nothing less. To be honest, I haven’t stayed at an inn in quite a while, so maybe this is standard now. There is no daily housekeeping unless you specifically request it. Even after we did, I’m 100% sure the bed sheets were never changed. The shower water pressure is extremely low, although the water does get nice and hot. The towel warmer in the bathroom was a nice touch. The most ridiculous thing in the room was the “mini fridge.” It’s more like the tiny fridge you’d use to store skincare products. If you want an actual mini refrigerator, you have to rent one from the front desk for $10 per day. The on-site restaurant was also disappointing. Our waiter, Paul, was one of the worst servers we’ve ever had. He was rude, abrupt, and when I asked what the most popular items on the menu were, he appeared to read the menu while answering because he didn’t seem familiar with it. The food was bland and lacked seasoning, and my steak was cooked almost well done even though I ordered it medium rare. Overall, we were not impressed and would not choose to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. We were in the back building the Walker building (I think) surprisingly quiet and did not hear other quests in hallways or near us. Limited parking when the restaurant is open . But we moved the car closer when it closed. Continental breakfast available at yhe Inn for a charge. We chose a hot meal elsewhere but had a table filled with fruit, muffins hard-boiled eggs and such. The old in is beautiful and you are allowed to use a lot of the public spaces. The rockers on the front on the porch are a great place to read. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice New England Inn with great attached restaurant/ brewery. Dinner was fantastic - didn’t try the breakfast. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The in-room fridge is very small.

Charming and comfortable, and so very Vermont!
