Quinta de São Thiago

What a magical place! It’s like you stepped back in time when you arrive at this Quinta, surrounded by lush gardens. The woman who owns it grew up there and has so many fascinating stories to share about the house. Although it’s down a narrow gravel road, it’s easily accessible by car, Uber, and even Uber eats if you decide to order in. On the day we were without a car, were able to walk to the main road where there is a bus service to a lot of the sites in Sintra—though it was hard to leave the enchanting property. And my 8 year old son wanted me to mention that he found a lizard in the bathroom and had a lot of fun and the lizard was super cute.

We loved our family stay at the Quinta de Sao Thiago. The historic of the place, the gardens and our kids loved the swimming pool. Theresa was very helpful and generous. Breakfast was remarkable. The roads to get there was a little of an adventure but so very worth it. Recommend this place if you have a event or just for few days like us. Thank you Theresa for having us.

Loved this place! Beautiful property and so much to see within the property itself. Breakfast was amazing and price was fair. We got the suite and the room view was beautiful. Definitely coming back here!

VERY difficult to find. One way streets everywhere and google maps and car GPS could not find it. Thank goodness for a toir guide we came across nt chance. House was Old and worn. Electrical plugs hanging out of the wall or lamps with patched up exposed wires. Small rooms, not very clean. Smelled musty. Nice for the experience of a country house. But would not want to stay for long.
