Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge

Very close to the centre. A short walk or 2min drive

Spotless unit with quality kitchen equipment. Very quiet. Good laundry. Friendly helpful hostesss

Very comfortable, good value for money, and only 5 to 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants, and bars.

Although the place was accomodating for a basic stay I thought a few features lacked thought. Probably not the best place to stay in winter as there is only a small heater that takes all night to warm the room. Staff were nice to turn it on early which I appreciated but it was a little too late in the day by then. The blind that blocks out the outside was pretty useless and light from the security lights shone through meaning it was difficult to sleep and a slight draft meant it kept banging on the sill. If the blind was replaced with a black out and more heating was put into the rooms + an electric blanket, it would definitely improve customer comfort.
