Mountaineer Lodge

Nice stay. We had a room that was the old motel style with the door to the parking lot on the first floor. this building did not have an elevator so those on the second floor need ed to carry their things up the stair. There was a breakfast buffet for $10.00 CDN pp plus tax. The buffet was similar to those found at other hotels that had an included breakfat. TownPlac, Residene Inn, Holida Inn. It was OK for the price

Very clean room. Breakfast is ok.

Great stay at Mountaineer Lodge. The staff were helpful and friendly and our room had everything we needed, a really comfy bed and great refreshment facilities, plus a bath and overhead shower. We were situated near the railway and I was concerned about noise, however it was fine and although you could hear the trains early morning it wasn’t a major issue. I would suggest requesting a room away from the track if you’re worried about sleep disturbance. The buffet breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Location wise it’s just across the road from Samson Mall and with easy access to restaurants.

Very convenient location - across the street to the town mall & shuttle pick up stop! So, no parking concerns as we can walk over. Room is clean and well maintained. One thing to note is that the room can be quite warm even with the heat turned off - not a bad thing I guess for a place that can get very cold. Overall definitely recommend.
