Dragonfly Ranch

Barbara and her team at the Dragonfly Ranch make you feel like family as soon as you arrive. It was such a treat for my birthday getting to spend a full 8 days alongside my husband in this beautiful jungle oasis, filled with meaningful and spiritual conversations, cuddles with the community of loving and therapeutic pets, and lots of laughs. This really is a retreat and sanctuary for the people who embrace it as such, providing a welcome escape from daily distractions and positive healing energy for those who need it - whether they consciously realize it or not. We highly recommend planning for an extended stay here in order to fully enjoy the impact of its caretakers and energy on your mind, body, heart, and soul.

Very cool place in the jungles of the big island. Feels like you’re one with nature. The host, Barbara, is so friendly and helpful. She makes lots of food for breakfast and there’s a great outdoor spot to eat and relax. Had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

The Dragonfly Ranch has a lot of character and is a fun place to stay. Everyone was really friendly.

We stayed for just one night but it one of those places that is very ‘hawaii.’ While it’s not a Four Seasons, but the rooms were comfy, the scenery was stunning and the breakfast was simple but oh-so-fresh (fruits, eggs, toast and the tastiest coffee). Be ready for some nature in the rooms - we had a few geckos visit us as well as a frog hiding in the toilet (he escaped just fine!) - the staff is such a delight and eating breakfast on the lanai was perfect.
