Auberge du Puits

This is beautiful and quirky hotel in an old part of the town centre of Souillac. Owners appeared to be welcoming and charismatic. Lady owner communicates in English if struggling to speak in French. Rooms presented to be very nice and clean, while beds very comfortable. Bathroom appeared to be clean but would benefit from a little renovation. There is shower in the bathtub but no rail to attach it, which was a little bit inconvenient. There is cafe and dinning room downstairs, which seems to attract a lot of locals. Breakfast is served in the dinning room, though I would personally rather have something to eat elsewhere. Hygiene standards in the dinning room are not what I am used to, and are somehow low.

We only stayed one night but wished it could have been more. Beautiful little stone hotel right in the heart of this beautiful town. We ended up in a huge room with period furniture, huge windows with wooden shutters opening onto the courtyard outside. The lady manager spoke perfect English and was a very interesting person to talk to. 10/10 from us

Wonderful old building. Right across the street from the best restaurant in town. Bit noisy at night. Very nice city square. Breakfast was an added charge, but well worth it.

A hotel with a lot of character; as a building and the interior decoration. Limited car parking in the area of the hotel so it might be difficult in high season. Ideal for walking around the town. Rooms are comfortable, but a bit on the small side. There was nobody on reception in the evening to answer any queries.
