Centre of Britain Hotel & Restaurant

This is a classic quaint, village inn, excellent food, and very comfortable folksy rooms with loft beds. The proprietor and all the staff are super helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to hike directly to the best spots of Hadrians Wall.

Cannot rate this place highly enough. We felt very welcomed here, nothing felt like a hassle. Every single one of the staff members we encountered were lovely. The kids loved the room, very fun layout with a mezzanine level for their beds, lots of games of hide and seek were had! Food deserves a special mention, beautiful dining room with lots of light. The dinner menu was great, ample choice of plant based meals which is nice to see, although we couldn't resist the meat options on this trip. Star of the show has to be the breakfast, made to order, very well presented and absolutely delicious. If I could give it 20 stars I would! We'll definitely be back.
