Ragland Mansion Bed & Breakfast

Our stay was delightful. We enjoyed talking to the proprietor, Claudia, she was very informative. She gave us a few recommendations for dining out. The Brick Room Run was very good. We definitely will come back and stay at this bed and breakfast.

We stayed at Ragland on the return leg of a two week road trip from NY to southern Florida. It was such a welcoming and cozy experience. We arrived late because of traffic and Claudia met us at the door, showed us around and led us to our room. First of all, it’s huge. After staying in small rooms for two weeks this was so nice. Great big tv, and plenty of space for unpacking if needed. Most importantly, the bed was sooooo comfy. Good mattress and soft linens. The breakfast in the morning was perfect and just what we needed to fuel our final stretch home. I really hope we have the opportunity to return some day!

This is a charming Inn in a 19th-century mansion, full of interesting architectural details and grandeur. On the main floor are dining and lounge areas, all with interesting furniture and art that speak to a different age. The host, Claudia, is lovely and attentive. She provided great recommendations for meals and activities in Petersburg, and was flexible about breakfast time. If you are bored with standard hotels, this is a relaxing escape to an intriguing and personable stay.
