Wonderful staff, lovely rooms, and a beautiful property. We stayed in the "China" room. An excellent choice as an upgrade over a "basic" hotel.
The included breakfast was generous and there is a private members-bar on site that we were able to visit in the evening to chat with locals.

We stayed in the red room. It was the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The hotel and the room were filled with art and gorgeous period pieces. The hotel is like a museum in itself. The owners and staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent and minutes away from everything in Portsmouth.
