Hôtel Bon Encontre

Very comfortable stay in this hilltop hotel with excellent sunset view. Highlight of the stay was of course the most lovely, friendly and helpful host, Christine. It felt more like a stay at her home and being pampered by her.

Lovely selection of local meats, cheeses and pastries for breakfast, as well as breads, jams and cereals.

The hotel was very lovely, situated up on top of the hill. Took one or two tries with Google Maps to get the right turn but there are also signs for the hotel itself on the roads. About a 25 minute walk back up the hill, but not too bad. And a quick stroll down! The room was very comfortable, the hotel owner was extremely friendly and helpful with local suggestions. And the breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay again.

We have been in France for about 2 weeks, staying in a variety of places and I feel like we hit a home run with our stay at Hotel Bon Encontre. Christine is an extremely accommodating host who worked very hard to meet guests' needs. The hotel is in a wonderfully central location for exploring Dordogne. There is ample parking, which was a relief after fighting for parking spaces elsewhere! Breakfast includes cheeses and meats, breads and a different sweet treat baked in house. It's a very reasonable cost. We happened to visit when the temperature soared into the 90s, so cooling off in the pool was a relaxing way to spend a couple of hours before dinner. I would highly recommend this location!
