The Steamer Inn

My friend and I stayed at The Steamer Inn, Shanklin for 3 nights earlier this week. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The service was excellent as was the food; the "included" english breakfast was great, served freshly cooked and well-presented. The Steamer Inn was well located for the buses (50 yards across the road) which we made good use of throughout our stay. It was a shame the lift from the esplanade to the top of the cliff was out of action but instead we made good use of our Shanklin Chine ticket (valid from first use throughout our stay) as a more pleasant walk upto Shanklin Old Village and beyond rather that walk the longer way round.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Steamer! The room was exactly as shown in the photo. It was fresh and clean. Hearing the sounds of the ocean all night is an added bonus! The pub and restaurant downstairs was the perfect place to go for great food and conversation. They even take the time to reserve tables for guests staying in the rooms. The staff were so attentive and involved; you couldn't tell who was the owner/manager and who was hired staff - a good sign of a well-run establishment! Thank you to you all! I most definitely recommend!

Lovely place to stay,lovely balcony with sea views,the two lady's who served breakfast were lovely, friendly, and chatty, it's a very busy place,so unfortunately the rest of the staff didn't have time to chat, we would stay again.

Having a Balcony was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best , always hot. All the food was of good quality and generous portions. Room basic but could do with updating. Would recommend.
