This was a very unique hotel. Before 2016, it was an AME church. It's on the National Register of Historic Places and had played a role in the civil rights movement. Speakers like Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois spoke there. A management group bought it in 2016, added on to it to turn it into a hotel, but kept the existing property. Staff was friendly, rooms were nice, it's well located, and has on-site parking, although expensive. I would definitely stay there again.

3rd year in a row my daughter stayed here to catch a Fever game for her birthday and each year I am impressed with the value. Big nice room, always clean and right on the canal which is beautiful. I have paid $400 a night to stay in places that were smaller yet this room comes in just under $200. Excellent value.
