The Littleton Arms are in a convenient and easily accessible location.
Rooms were comfortable and clean having recently been decorated to a high standard. Beds also comfortable and good pressure on shower even though on top floor.
Breakfast was excellent having the full English while there were lots of good alternatives to choose from too.
The BAD bit
========
Thursday night was Steak night and we booked a table for 18:00. Having been shown to our table it was 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order for any food or drink. The food did then arrive pretty quickly. Having finished the main course we waited a further 30 minutes for someone to collect our plates and offer desert after which we gave up deciding to do without a pudding and pay up.

The room was clean and the staff pleasant. The breakfast was good too. The room lacked anywhere to hang clothes, hence 4, not 5 stars.

Dog friendly, helpful staff great for an overnight break on a long journey ( both ways!) Easy access from the M6 making a break from motorway driving.
Penkridge is a really interesting place to stay and take a break on a long journey. Very welcoming villager and quiet away from the main road.
However the pub is a little noisy at night ( we stayed on a hot summers night!)

Room very clean and homely, I think the mattress needs updating as it is very soft with a big dip in it

"Easy parking, very helpful staff, lovely character hotel, lovely clean, comfortable bedroom, bathroom clean, possibly ready for bit of TLC. Couldn’t master TV but probably my fault. Amazing breakfast..."
