Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
Town: Bainbridge, a lovely Wensleydale village, is located in absolutely magnificent surroundings just a mile and a half from Askrigg, well known to millions as Darrowby in James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small," and four miles from Hawes, the birthplace of Wensleydale cheese. The community of Bainbridge has a large village green with its own set of stocks. Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, castles at both Castle Bolton and Middleham, and, of course, Hardraw Force - England's tallest single, unbroken, drop waterfall at 99ft! There are many attractive market towns and villages to explore, such as Leyburn and Middleham, to name a few.
