Fairfield by Marriott Wakayama Kushimoto

Stunning location, with great views! These must have been the biggest and most comfortable beds we slept on in Japan. Room was big, and clean. I had to work one day in the room and staff asked if they could clean room while I was there. They were so quick and efficient, room was refreshed within 10-15 minutes. Laundry facilities available for guests to use. As they don't have a restaraunt in the hotel they had a microwave, coffee and ice machine available for guests to use any time of day. Also a small fridge and area to purchase snacks and drinks. We booked a second room for our teenagers to come across for a a couple of days. Very accomodating.

As my friend had booked accommodation as a special getaway for my husband and I there was some confusion with payments so we had to ask our friend to come and interpret and after all our driving we just wanted to go to sleep.

Fantastic location with amazing views over the famous rocks on the shore like of Kushimoto…seemed like it was new. The staff incredibly polite and kind…like everywhere we have been in Japan. Very comfortable beds and room in general.

Cant say anything negative, only a very positive experience.

The hotel was easy to get to with a local bus (just make sure you have coins). The room was great. Insanely spacious for Japanese standards, clean, super comfortable bed and the view onto the ocean was just a cherry on top (especially during sunset and sunrise). I'll definitely be staying there again if I come back to that area.

I'd have loved a bento service for breakfast with some local foods from the region. Luckily there was a shop nearby where I stocked up on local produce and snacks.

This 3-star hotel completely exceeded our expectations and honestly deserves 4 stars! The reception area is beautifully designed. We especially loved the cozy little kitchen, which features a coffee machine for guests and a large, inviting table that is perfect for relaxing, having breakfast, or enjoying good conversations. The rest of the spacious lounge area was wonderful as well. The absolute highlight was our room facing the rocks. The decor was beautiful and the view was simply spectacular. We particularly enjoyed the sofa right by the window – it offered a magnificent view of the sunrise. We truly loved our stay here and will definitely be back!
