The location is quite a steep but short climb, the view was absolutely breathtaking. The outside had a traditional pond and it had a very nice, country style atmosphere.
I suppose the rooms had a slight smell and the down hill was a bit dangerous, but what’s the Shimanami cycling course without a little danger?

It was quirky, down a narrow little alleyway with a beautiful garden and a stunning Japanese style room. The host was super helpful, spending half an hour of his time helping us to sort out our booking properly. The property was very easy to find, and since we arrived in the rain it was handy being in the arcade as we stayed dry on our 15 min walk from the station!
The staircase was very steep and narrow, we found this not a problem and quite fun, but maybe if you aren’t interested in lugging your suitcase up then be prepared!

It is a real Japanese house, the vibe is lovely, with tatami floors thin corridors and rice paper doors.
Very big house in the middle.of a commercial street (not very well isolated tho)
So the staff is very stiff, not unpolite or anythign, just one doesn't feel very welcomed... looking at us like aliens.
Beds I'm sorry but worst I slept on, even putting the 2 futons on that makeshift bedframe lined with tatami... both up and down in the twin beds (we were each in one 🛌)
Very very loud next morning in the female dorm at 6am on a Sunday, no respect for the rest of us...

i liked the homey vibes it gave of staying in a japanese style home
floors were very creeky hard to be quiet for others. i saw a cockroach on my clothes after taking a shower and it did not have the best futon cushions i could still feel the hard flooring underneath my 3 layers of blankets and padding
