We stayed here as a couple for our anniversary and really enjoyed our time. The location is especially nice, right on the beachfront. We loved the free swimming pool access and the sunbathing sheets provided. It was also great that they allowed BYOB. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. we requested a cake for our anniversary, and they kindly arranged it for us when we were going. Everything on this side was all good!
The only downsides were the lack of shampoo and the water from all the taps was scalding hot, regardless of whether we selected the hot or cold side, which made showering impossible. I don't blame the staff for this, though it was likely just the hot climate heating the exposed water tanks.

Amazing location very central, walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants. We are a young family of 5 and staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. And the beach is amazing.
We liked everything about our stay!! Just be careful walking down Galle road, the busses are crazy and wont slow down for anything
