Clean rooms and friendly staff

The place seemed run down. Skipped breakfast seeing just cold items but coffee wasn't terrible. The staff let us check in early which was nice but since they couldn't find the housekeeper to verify if the room was ready we were told to go in ahead and see, which was odd. My husband misplaced the room key and the nightshift guy just issued him a new one after just asking the room number (no cross checking the name or seeing ID) which I guess is a sign of trust culture maybe but felt somewhat unsafe if anyone could just walk up and get any key. No elevator. Basic amenities.
