Holiday Inn Express Chicago NW - Arlington Heights by IHG

It was very clean.

Our room was very clean and quite comfortable. We were pleased to find new carpet, and that the room overall appeared to have been recently updated. Room was nice and quiet. Microwave and refrigerator units were VERY clean. Breakfast was the standard fare. Eggs/sausage/biscuit & gravy, and a pancake machine, which was a nice touch. The coffee machine in the breakfast area brews from freshly-ground beans one cup at a time. It's slower than siphoning pre-brewed coffee from a carafe, but tastes a LOT better and was worth the wait. The warm cinnamon rolls were unexpected and yummy. Would have liked see yogurt among the healthy offerings, and the fresh fruit option (apples only during our stay) was not-so-fresh. Every apple in the bowl was badly bruised, and one of them definitely appeared to have gone bad, which was unappetizing.

Good hotel!!

Stayed for 2 nights. On the first night we went out to eat. We left one light on and the TV off. We came back and found the TV on, more lights on, and the pillows rearranged. We complained. The staff said they would try to find out what happened. The next day we were told that it was the cable TV guy that had been in our room. That seems highly unlikely. Why would he mess with the pillows?
