La Isla y el Mar Hotel Boutique - Adults Only

All the staff were amazing - friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The hotel itself is beautiful, our room (deluxe suite) was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, so the property itself could not be faulted. It is adults only (age 16 upwards). We travelled as a family of 4 (aged 16 & 18) but the hotel is too quiet for teenagers. Their preference was the New Town as it's a lot more lively than the Old Town. From the hotel, It's a 15 minute walk to the start of the strip and if you were to walk to the end of the strip (Avenida de Las Playas), it would take you about 40 minutes. Taxi's are very cheap, so if you want peace and quiet during the day, then it doesn't cost much to go to the New Town at night. Puerto del Carmen is very hilly, so unless you are staying on one of the beachfront hotels, then you will encounter plenty of hills when you are out and about walking. If you want to stay in one of the best hotels in Puerto Del Carmen, then 'La Isla y el Mar' is definitely one of the best in the resort. The compromise is you walk or get a taxi to the night life. I would stay there again but only as a couple, not as a family with teenagers, as it's too quiet.
