Hotel Villa Santa Catarina

This is the place you have been looking for. Absolutely stunning property. The staff is great, the food is wonderful, and the view is picturesque. The hotel arranged for a private boat tour for our family that was great. The property is one town over from Pana, but is a quick and easy Tuktuk that adds to the atmosphere. We were traveling with 5 and 6 year olds and that didn’t present any problem. Highly recommend.

This hotel is simply beautiful. The staff makes you feel like royalty. The view is beautiful but not accessible or visible from the inside. I wish they build an observation deck in the future. Great conservation of the building. Neat clean all around. Great gourmet food. The best was breakfast. I missed a hair dryer, but a small detail for such a wonderful experience.

We absolutely loved this hotel right in the middle of Santa Catarina Palopó. Away from the busyness of Panajachel but a close drive into town if you need to access things or take the lanchas to the other villages. We took tuk tuks to get around and there was also parking at the hotel. The town itself was super charming and it was also easy to get a private lancha from near the hotel. All the staff was super kind and attentive and the entire hotel was well maintained and spotless. Beautiful views, we absolutely would come back here! Check out the town, there’s an incredible candle shop, coffee shop and beautiful textiles to purchase and support the local artisans right outside the hotel.

This hotel has been around since 1988 but it has maintained a high level of excellence. In fact, the age of the hotel gives it more pizazz than many of the newer once. The rooms look out on the lake or over the pool. The restaurant is very pleasant with excellent servers and the food is very good with a good menu selection. The bar is also worthy of note. Breakfast was included and was one of the best I have had in Guatemala.
