Sel Hotel Mývatn

Amazing location and nice spa. Superb night time photo opportunities. Lovely, varied and plentiful breakfast and nice staff who commiserated with us after England lost in the world cup semi final 😔 Make sure you explore the pseudo craters (apparently they have also only been found on Mars!). So much to see and do nearby - we could have stayed much for at least another night, or two.

This is a large hotel by local standard. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Room was decent sized. Bathroom was bigger than Hotel Varmaland, Godafoss and ODDSSON Midtown. Breakfast was very good - lots of options. Dinner at restaurant was very good (so me starters were very very good). Bar and bar tenders were very good. It had a gas/petrol pump station - hugely convenient. Adequate parking unlike ODDSSON midtown. Super convenient to hit spots around the Myvatn loop.

We stayed here for two nights and had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was generous with plenty of choices. The location was also very convenient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that we felt the room rate was a little too high for what was offered.
