The Grand Colonial is a great choice for a temporary home in the Herkimer area. So rich in American Revolutionary history, the old mansion is an historic relic that is kept up-to-date by its current owners. Mike was our host, and he couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We give it our highest recommendation.

Home was pretty but not your typical B&B.
Host was not there when we arrived but was very nice when we met him the next day.

This BnB is charming, with delicious and generous Breakfast provided hot every day. I spent more time in my room than expected, as I became ill while traveling, and was unable to enjoy some of the local sites. Mike was very willing to accommodate, and it worked out well. Pet friendly! Bric is a very charming, well behaved 4-legged friend.
The place is very popular for the annual Cheese Festival held nearby (the same weekend I visited) and for those wanting to explore Herkimer Diamond mines.
