The location and atmosphere of the converted 200 year old Armenian school only meters from the bazaars and some of the city’s best restaurants is perfect.

Sad to say but the bed was a shocker. Like sleeping in a shallow bowl. Upgrade the bedding and it’s a 10.

Superb location, unique and interesting buildings, staff on 24/7 and were very helpful and friendly. The authentic Turkish breakfast was a highlife.

However, this time the experience felt quite different—and not in a good way. At check-in, the reception mentioned that the room allocated to us was “not the nicest one,” which was surprising. It does make you wonder why such rooms are even part of the offering. More importantly, the overall atmosphere seems to have changed, possibly due to new management. The warm, personal touch I remembered from previous stays just wasn’t there. There were plenty of staff around, but the service felt oddly disconnected. During checkout, there was no one at reception—we almost ended up checking out on our own. The same lack of attention showed when handling luggage; no one was around to assist or even acknowledge guests with a simple goodbye. Overall, still a decent place, but the service and experience have noticeably declined compared to previous visits.
