Hotel und Café Am Markt Residenz

My stay in the hotel was very pleasent, definitely recommend it.

Amazing Christmas magic in this town, as though you are into the Nutcracker ballet

This place surpassed my expectations and I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very nice and I loved the breakfast!

Very spacious rooms (especially for a European hotel in a smallish city), comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. They are not fancy, however, and there aren't a lot of unnecessary amenities -- don't expect a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid traditional hotel with friendly staff. The beds and pillows were a bit too soft for me, but may be perfect for you. The breakfast is very filling and tasty, with a surprising amount of variety -- especially worth getting in such a small town with relatively few morning options. The bells from the church across the street are definitely audible -- and start early and end late on weekends -- but didn't really bother my friends and I too much. Given the location and the price, this is an excellent choice for your trip to Meissen.
