I really liked the guys working there, especially Umar, who studies history, like I did. I like the old building the hotel is in. There is a ceiling ventilator, not an air-conditioning, but it worked really good. The room is nice, and even more so the toilet. I like the surroundings. If you go towards the centre (the cathedral), on the left, very close, you have a shop with fruit and another with very nice local sweets. And if you, very close to the hotel, turn left, in a small street that has a small mosque, there is a very nice local street food for really low prices, and quite delicious. Try broad bean ("fool") sandwitch and pickles :). It is silly money, and worth trying.

I had some trouble with the elevator.

Very central location, which made it easy to explore Alexandria. The room had a beautiful decoration and a lot of character, and we really appreciated having our own private bathroom. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

The room had a ceiling fan, but air conditioning would have made the stay much more comfortable. There was some noise from the traffic and constant honking outside, although after visiting Cairo we realised Alexandria wasn’t actually that bad! The staff were present in the kitchen/common area almost 24 hours a day, just outside our room, which sometimes made the accommodation feel a little less private. Some minor maintenance and renovation would also improve the property.

The staff are very professional and kind friendly people, they helped me with my bags and didn't hesitate to ask if I needed anything. Also shout out to the housekeeping lady for helping me in using the microwave! 😊 The place is unique, comfortable and cozy, add to that, it's budget friendly. I'd book here again in a heartbeat, except the bathroom was so tiny for someone of my size. The difficult staircase is manageable if you climb slowly and take breaks.

The bathroom! No matter how much I tried to push water to the floor drain, moisture kept getting trapped in the nooks and crannies of the uneven silicone sealing on the bathroom floor, and it caused a distinct smell.

Location is ideal, nice old classocal Alexandria bulding. Ideal for seasoned travellers to Egypt who are familiar with the country, city and standards. For beginners not a good choice.

The beds were terribly uncomfortable, basically the middle is declined, I woke up with a massive backpain. There is no AC, what could not an issue, but the cellilling fan is too high and man bearly feels it. The staff is ok, but I find too much the telling of rules. If man comes to an islamic country , then understanding the culture is a basic. No need to mephasise on it, because it can come off to guests to be judgmental.
