The host, Kudo-san, was welcoming and friendly without being intrusive upon arriving tired from our day. He was quick to steer us toward cheap, safe, and convenient parking nearby and also offered helpful advice about getting around the city the following day.
The breakfast was simple but timely, fresh, and far better than provided at the vast majority of higher ranked places. It consisted of sushi rolls which I cannot say for sure but might have been provided by the supermarket around the corner, a nice bowl of soup which I know was made fresh, apple and persimmon slices, and a choice of self-serve green tea or coffee made at the table with a portable burner and camper’s kettle.
The decor was rustically eclectic. The feel was close to that of a mountain hut, decorated by mementos occasionally left by its visitors. Despite the dust-collecting potential of the many bits and pieces on display, it was remarkably clean. Personally, I reminded me of a beloved summer cottage that my family has frequented for more than four generations—the walls are thin, the floor not quite level, and more than just the decor is a bit DIY but it feels very homey and full of memories of the past and adventures yet to come.

Very nice place for a cosy and confortable stay. The host is very nice and helpful, the breakfast really good and the price is definitely reasonable.
Only downside could be the distance from the center but the host often proposes to drive you or get you if possible in his schedule. Unless you come back very late and there are no more transports, it is then not such a big issue! I personally like to walk and therefore it was not such a big issue but it is not exactly in the center.

The secluded location was not easy to find without calling the proprietor to come and meet me, but that secluded-ness meant it was very peaceful and quiet. The room was cozy, the bed comfortable, the location close to a tram and convenience stores and a supermarket, and the basic amenities were good. And the Japanese breakfast I had one day was superb.
Nothing really. A solid place.

Friendly owner who organized a transfer to and from the house, good breakfast
It was really hard to sleep without air conditioning in a very small room. We had to sleep with an open door and a kind of AC that is present in the corridor is very very loud, so the sleep quality was very bad.
The location is also fairly far away from the center of Sapporo.

"Cudowny gospodarz, idealne miejsce na nocleg. Pan odebrał nas z dworca kolejowego samochodem, nazajutrz odwiózł. Śniadanie bardzo smaczne. Serdecznie polecam."
