Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Carbis Bay, a seaside community in St Ives, is well known for its stunning stretch of sugar-white sand beach. The beach has a subtropical feel to it thanks to the turquoise water and the shady setting, making it ideal for a lazy day at the shore. So if lying on the sand isn't your thing, you can always head over to the Ocean Sports Centre and rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Or, why not book a day at the hotel's spa, which boasts a stunning terrace where you can sip cocktails while taking in the sea views? In addition to a fish and chip shop and a branch of the railway, Carbis Bay boasts a few local shops and eateries. Train rides from Carbis Bay to St Ives are among the most scenic in England.
