Country house for 2/3 people with a brand new private pool in the small town of Drakona, Crete.
Aretousa sits in the countryside about 20 km from the beaches near Chania. Drakona is a peaceful small town at the foot of the “White Mountains.” If you love the outdoors, nature, and traditions, you’ll love this house: in town and the neighboring villages, you’ll experience true, authentic Cretan hospitality, and in characteristic tavernas, you’ll **taste traditional Greek food.
The house owners are very welcoming and will be happy to ensure you have an authentic, relaxing experience. The house is small but cosy, and the brand new pool is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.

An unforgettable stay and a beautiful example of true Cretan hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The villa was peaceful, comfortable and the perfect place to slow down and enjoy Crete, but what made our stay truly special were the people behind it. Our hosts welcomed us with homemade moussaka on our first day. it was such a thoughtful gesture after travelling and a wonderful introduction to Cretan food and culture. The location was exactly what we were looking for: quiet mountain life, beautiful surroundings, authentic food nearby, and still a great base for exploring Chania and the surrounding villages. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and for making us feel less like visitors and more like friends. This is the Crete we hoped to experience, and we would happily return to this beautiful space ❤️ thank you x

An excellent family holiday then location is extremely picturesque and surrounded by mountains. Everyday we saw the most wonderful sunset and sunrise. Sofia met us at the property, she cleaned and cooked delicious traditional food for us and completed check out, making these processes simple and personal. To enable a family to make the most of the island hiring a car is essential. We explored many beautiful beaches, ports and archaeological ruins as we were blessed with sunshine all week. I would recommend a visit for a lovely family holiday.

Very peaceful and relaxing location, situated on a mountain road about 30 minutes from Chania. The house, outdoor area, and pool were all very clean and well-maintained. Everything you need for a comfortable stay was provided (incl. air conditioning, kitchen utensils, sun loungers, and umbrellas). Sofia and Machi were extremely friendly (thanks for the food and drinks for the first night, especially for the Moussaka!) and communication with them was excellent. I would definitely book this house again whenever I need a quiet getaway.
