Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Sennen, the westernmost settlement in mainland Britain, is a well-liked vacation spot with a wonderful mile-long stretch of fine, white sand beach. The hamlet, which has great surfing conditions, has its own surf school, which is watched over by a stylish beach bar and restaurant with floor to ceiling windows that take advantage of the stunning scenery. Sennen, a former centre of smuggling, still has many hidden passageways, one of which is rumoured to lead to the covered well at the Old Success Inn. This charming village, which has remained almost untouched over the ages, is home to a gallery, a mediaeval church, an Iron Age fort, and a small number of stores where you can buy beachwear, presents and souvenirs, as well as a variety of groceries.
