Trippers hostel

What can I say about Trippers, that hasn't been said before? Will you get lost in the hills the first time you come to check in? Probably. Will you meet great hosts and other interesting travellers? Most definitely. Will you extend your trip by a few days because their wifi is pretty good, and you're going to make up some excuse to "WFH"? I'll let you decide. Dorms are clean, spacious and have wonderful views of Dali Monastery and the town of Darjeeling beyond. Old school wooden floors in a mountain house made of stone. Complete with a functioning chimney in the common room and all modern amenities to keep you and your devices charged. Special shout out to Tanu, Javed and Noor. Incredible trio of hosts who went above and beyond. Blueberry pancakes for breakfast, always making sure we had hot water, cups of darjeeling tea magically appearing out of nowhere and so much more. These guys were real heroes. For anyone looking to chill in the hills for a few days, Trippers might just be the spot. I came right after spending around 10 days on a Vipassana meditation retreat. The sight of a smiling golden buddha statue at the entrance was a sure sign that I had reached the right place. Explore around if you want, Darjeeling and Ghoom are both easily accessible. Or don't, just sit around in the common room or balcony and soak in the mountains. The hosts will keep you fed, don't worry. The memories of my stay at Trippers hostel will remain for a long time and to quote one of the greatest performers of my generation - "I'll be back!"

Nothing significant. The hostel is a little tucked away in the hills, so finding it the first time can be slightly confusing, but that's also part of its charm.
