Muckross Park Hotel & Spa

The location was perfect to access the national park, it was only an 8 minute drive to city center. The staff were incredibly accommodating, the Yew Tree restaurant even accommodated my daughter’s dietary restrictions an absolute first in our travels!

They didn’t have a pool area for kids. Not a huge missing, since there were so many other things to do, but it would have been nice to have an additional activity.

Excellent hotel staff and service. Beautifully decorated and pristine rooms and common areas and restaurants throughout the premises. Superb breakfast! 5 stars.

Included breakfast was good Service and staff were very good Pub was fun enough Room was dated but large, carpet was dirty, bathroom needs updating The pool/hot tub area was a big disappointment- the outside hot tub had cold water coming from jets, the inside hot tubs each had one overly powerful jet and the others not working. We mentioned to the spa desk and she said they were “working” on a fix in a way that made me think this had been a long term problem. It was billed as a 5 star and cost that, nearly $500 per night possibly because there was a wedding that night. Its location is special by the national park and bikes to explore are free, which was the best part. Closer to Killarney town center were a million other hotels which may be a better value. Only choose this if the price is right and you like being further out. We explored Ring of Kerry from here which worked well but if going again I would stay in Kenmare or Portmagee on the loop itself.
