Staff were very nice and helpful, evening meal was good and a reasonable choice of food for breakfast breakfast. Room in the wooden annex was a decent size compared to the ones in the main block which are a bit cramped.

You have to pay extra to use the hot water spa.

The hot pools and sauna were much welcome after long hikes, as were the cocktails brought to you to the pool. We got our full of thermal pools here and ended up skipping the Blue Lagoon. We used this hotel as a launch pad for exploration of the west and north even though the drives were longer than expected. Iceland is big!

Hot pools should not be charged at full price for guests. You get a small discount if you go a second time but no discount for a third visit. Strange. Restaurant is overpriced for what it is...burgers and food truck type food. There is no real cooking at this place which is an issue especially when you stay for more than one night, which seems to be the length of most stays. They should hire a chef and offer real food. Staff was wonderful.

Great hotel in the middle of no where with the most fantastic restaurant on the grounds. Dinner was amazing!!

The property was gorgeous, our dinner was delicious and the hot springs / locker rooms were fantastic.

We booked through booking. com and were unaware of all the extra charges. You had to pay extra for the hot springs and were expected to pay this fee each time you used them. (We stayed at several other locations and as a hotel guest were not charged to use the springs no matter how many times we used them). As for the staff, frankly they were not very welcoming. It felt as if they had an attitude like they were doing us a favor to help us. And be warned. The bed in our cabin was a full size mattress which was not at all comfortable for two older adults. Had we known the bed was so small we would not have booked this location.
