Amphitheater Cave Houses

A great view from our balcony/terrace of the sea that was easier on our budget than the other hotels.  We stayed here a week and a half and had a wonderful time at the Amphitheater Cave Houses.  You can be as active as you want and maybe even moreso because of the constant coming and going up and down the famous cliffs of Santorini.  If you can't do the stairs you'll be paying a lot more money and still won't be completely stair free.  It's just the nature of this beautiful island.  Our room had a direct view of the Caldera and the whitewashed buildings surrounding us.  Our terrace was a grand place to sip wines in the evening after a fun day of touring.  Depending which room you book how many steps you'll climb to get to the first walkway.  Our room was 79 steps but other rooms had more and others had fewer.  So if you plan your day correctly you can minimize the up and down trips to your room.  Not only was the view gorgeous once you are on the lateral walkway things get easier.  There are many restaurants, cafes, stores and even a grocery store within 10 minutes of walking which does get easier the longer you stay.  Minas will give you an orientation upon arrival and you can have your luggage ported from/to your bus/taxi by arranging with him in advance. He is a great source of local information.  The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable.  Good wifi but no TV available.  Our room had a kitchenette with a refrigerator and a hot water kettle but no cooking facilities. This place was a comfortable homey place to come back to after a busy day.  When we go back we know where we'll stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Minas was very helpful and all staff were kind and friendly. The location was incredible! Views, out of this world!

There was nothing I didn't like

This was quite a special and almost intimate experience. Minas the proprietor connected on Whats App and arranged our transfer from the airport right to our room. Something we thought was a little over the top (we usually travel pretty independently) but in this case was totally smart. Cliff side Santorini is a labyrinth and the descent with luggage can be a little overwhelming. He has a small team that share in a welcoming stay. Miri who help us with our luggage in and out, and Mrs. Tamara, the house keeper. All are invested in creating a great experience.

Fabulous views and private patio with small table and chairs and loungers! Perfect! So clean and Mrs Tamara and Miri provided extra kind services to the four of us! Thank YOU!

LOL well Santorini always has a lot of steps so got a good workout!
