Maison Tullio Sorrento

Die Nähe zum Bahnhof war gut, auch dass man keine Treppen laufen musste, um dorthin zu kommen. Die Betreiberin beziehungsweise Magali war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar.

We were assigned to the Vitorria room during our stay. The room is beautifully decorated with tones of pink and purple, and small whimsical touches that are not overbearing. There is a kettle and coffee/tea packets in the room. It was nice to be able to enjoy a hot beverage before bedtime. A safe is available for storing passports, etc. The location is very convenient to the train & bus station in Sorrento- which is a bonus if one plans to make day trips to other nearby towns. It is also within walking distance from the historic town, which has lots of shops and restaurants. Magali is a wonderful hostess who met us on arrival, even when our arrival time was delayed significantly due to inclement weather. She was also very responsive to questions asked during our 6 day stay.

The room faces a major road in Sorrento, and even a triple pane glass window could not keep out the sounds of vehicles entirely until later hours of the night.

Värden var så trevlig. Jättefint inne i gamla stan. Bra med jalusier man kunde dra ner helt svart i rummet.

Lite sämre med frukosten då det inte fanns mycket att välja på men går ju köpa till yoghurt mm i butiken i närheten.

This hotel is quite nice and very close to Sorrento train station. When we arrived, Magali greeted us. She was very friendly and helpful, spoke fluent English, and was able to give us an early check-in, which we appreciated. The room was clean and modern, with dimmers and AC. The bathroom was quite nice as well, with plenty of counter space and a vent fan. There was also a smart TV.

The only issue with the room was that the rubber stripping on the shower door was broken. Also, the power is activated with your key card, so everything shuts off when you leave the room, including the AC. As a result, when you return to the room, it is pretty warm and can take a few hours to get back to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Only cash is accepted for the city tax, which is worth knowing in advance. For breakfast, you can get a pastry and a hot or cold drink at the neighboring "The Brothers" bar. Unfortunately, their pastries are not very good, especially the croissants. The donuts are OK, though.
