Meg and Niko’s home is truly an experience, I wish we could have stayed a week! Not only do the photos not do it justice, but the hosts couldn’t be sweeter! You can’t beat the location either, right near the Safeway and a few minutes from downtown. Meg greeted us when we arrived, showed us around, gave us a basket for picking lettuce from the garden and s’mores for the campfire. There were plush robes for everyone and even the futon was made up for us. As soon as we walked in we didn’t want to leave so much so we decided to enjoy our evenings at home cooking and admiring the view- we even saw a moose with her two babies. We really enjoyed chatting with Meg and Niko and meeting their sweet baby- staying at Grand Bear Den was like staying with family. I sure hope we can return soon. Do yourself a favor and book an extra night or two to relax in the sauna and enjoy the property.

Beautiful property, beautiful views and a very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped area. And our host was very generous and accommodating.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Meg and Nico are delightful hosts. The house did advertise three bathrooms but there’s one full bath and 1/2 bath so must be sure you are comfortable sharing a shower with others in your group. Also it is a good idea to have eye masks to sleep due to the long lhours of daylight in Alaska. (one bedroom is in the loft). We spent much of our time, enjoying the house, sauna, fire pit, and taking in the amazing view.s:) We would definitely return to enjoy this beautiful place.

Grand Bear Den was absolutely an incredible place to stay!! Beautiful place, amazing views, outstanding kitchen, and great location for easy access to Seward and activities. All the special touches from all the ingredients to make s'mores over the incredible fire pit with a view, to the lovely basket for gathering goods from the garden, to the refreshments made available to us, as the guests, made the stay so very special!! Would stay there over and over again!
