Very good stay

Nothing it was perfect

The studio was in the basement of the backside of a building. Due to the absence of real window and a massive door, it was quiet, insulated against any sound from outside (perfect for sleeping) but also from any heat from outside, so it stayed fresh during the heat wave. The internet was working very well, and the host responded immediately to my question, to use the washing machine and provided me the code of the closet. The bed was comfortable. The check-in was easy, a code on the door, although it took me time to find which door.

The only small window was opening inside the washing machine closet, which means that there was NO DAY LIGHT AT ALL inside, unless, you left the front door open (opening on the alley, with everyone passing by) . The place is a basement so the ceiling was very low, I guess, 2 meters (6,5 feet), and even lower in the shower, so I could not really stand in the shower. There was no utensils at all, only one (!) tea spoon, one wine opener, some one time use wooden forks that you can get for free in supermarkets, some card board plates, and some card board tea cups. One microwave and one water boiler, and that was it. This was disappointing. The whole gave a feeling of neglect. I wouldn't advise it for a stay longer than one or two days.

Great location, in a lovely part of London with good public transport, an hour walk to Paddington. Price was great for the location. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet at night and I slept well. Instructions for finding the place were clear and check-in was easy. It was nice to have a kettle and fridge with tea, coffee and toiletries provided. Despite no windows it did not feel stuffy. A fan was provided. This was a good budget option for the price and I would stay here again.

As there are no windows, it felt a bit claustrophobic when I first went in but I quickly stopped noticing & the lack of windows doesn’t matter when you are only here for sleeping. It’s a bit tatty, with peeling paint on the walls. The shower is low - I could only just get my head under (5’4”). It’s lacking some basic essentials e.g. no reading lamp beside the bed, the kitchen does not have any crockery or cutlery only paper cups, paper plates and disposable cutlery, no bath mat in the bathroom so the floor gets wet. Random ants. It’s a budget accommodation so I did not expect luxury but adding a few more basics would make it better.

Lo que más me gustó fue la ubicación, muy bien comunicada (Metros: Finchley & Frognal/Finchley Rd y West Hampstead), con muchos autobuses en Finchley Road y en mi caso ideal para el autobus directo al aeropuerto de Luton. Es un apartamento pequeño pero recogido, limpio y con lo necesario para poder estar cómodo durante una estancia corta. La cama es individual y pequeña, pero estaba muy limpia y me resultó cómoda, que para mí era lo más importante. También tiene espejo de cuerpo entero, TV y una pequeña zona de cocina con nevera, microondas, tetera, tostadora y algunos utensilios para cocinar. Un armario muy pequeño, pero suficiente y una plancha, que sorprendentemente me vino bien. Teniendo en cuenta los precios de Londres, aunque le hace falta un poco de cariño al sitio, me pareció una opción con buena relación calidad-precio,. Si buscas principalmente un sitio limpio, bien ubicado y con una cama cómoda donde descansar, cumple perfectamente esa función.

Lo que más me incomodó fue que el apartamento NO TIENE VENTANA al exterior, algo que considero debería quedar claro en el anuncio y que no se indicaba cuando yo reservé. No entra luz natural ni se puede ventilar directamente al exterior. Tuve que mantener la puerta a la calle abierta con una silla para conseguir algo de ventilación y luz natural. La única ventana da a un pequeño y oscuro cuarto de lavandería comunitaria. Durante mis dos días solo se utilizó de día, por lo que el ruido no fue un gran problema, pero creo que es importante saberlo antes de reservar. La cocina también resulta algo extraña: tiene microondas, nevera, tetera, sartenes y otros utensilios, pero faltaban básicos como cubiertos, platos y vasos normales o tazas. Solo había platos y vasos desechables, ningún cubierto, ni esponja, trapo o papel de cocina. Ni siquiera podía prepararme un té por miedo a echar agua hirviendo en un vaso de plástico. Da la impresión de que inicialmente estuvo bien equipada, pero no se han ido reponiendo los utensilios de mayor uso. Por último, el apartamento es realmente pequeño, también en altura. Otro huésped comentó que parecía “la casa del Hobbit” y, después de alojarme, entiendo perfectamente a qué se refería. Los techos rondarán los dos metros (menos en la ducha/bañera) y la puerta también es baja, por lo que no lo recomendaría a personas altas. Dicho esto, si estos aspectos no te importan, el precio está muy bien para Londres: estaba limpio, la cama era cómoda y, para una estancia corta, a veces eso es lo único que hace falta.
