Clean, minimalistic and had everything we needed. Close to where we needed to go. Bed was comfortable and owners responsive.

No fault of the owners, it’s a terraced house so there’s regular passerbys peering in. Easy solution, we just pulled down the blinds.

Perfect location. Great access to the city. Quiet street with ample on street parking.

The washing machine didn't work, which was a pity as we were on a tight schedule and had planned to wash items during our stay. It is quite possible that the owners were not aware of this as the fault only became apparent a few minutes into the wash.

The location of the property was excellent and very easy and convenient for York city centre and especially the station / Railway Museum. It was good value, and access via key box took any hassle away straight away, but I felt it fell a bit short in some areas. The master bedroom bed was very comfy though and all beds had very good quality clean bedding and all towels were provided. Although the property is fairly minimalist in finishings / decoration some may not be particularly bothered by this. For a terrace property, it did seem very spacious.

Because of the lack of pictures / finishings etc I couldn't describe it as cosy. The beds in the second bedroom were not as comfy as would perhaps be expected and my son-in-law described one as quite uncomfortable and he had to change over. The boiler, or fan at least, seemed to be permanently cycling on which seemed a bit odd, and the flue was not properly sealed to the building structure and some wiring underneath it may be accessible by any inquisitive young folks staying , perhaps a review / service is in order. Unfortunately, I had a bad back at the time and the sofa / sofa-bed in the lounge was simply not comfy at all and I would further suggest the lack of soft furnishings / chairs in the lounge would also not be adequate for the supposed 6 people the property can sleep. The kitchen was reasonably well fitted out, but the apparent lack of microwave might not suit some. The shower over the bath and attached surround shower curtain may also not suit some folks (quite restrictive) and may be difficult for some to use due to the high bath rim whilst the pressure / heat were very good and perfectly adequate. I may have missed it, but a welcome pack / information folder would be useful for visitors. I have stayed in many similar cottages over the years and would suggest that with a few fairly simple upgrades, this would be a really good place to stay.
