We had the pleasure of being taken care of by the staff at the Villa Vaya Vista at Placencia. It boasts a three-story villa with a view that makes you believe in Heaven on Earth. I’ve added a few shots that do NOT do this Villa justice. It definitely is a must see in person. The bottom floor opens to an infinity pool that includes a swim up bar area. All right on the edge of the lagoon. The staff keep fresh cut tropical flowers in every room that enhance the beautiful artwork that brings out the local culture and talents of artists from the country. The staff are right here on site and worked harder than I ever have, phew. The staff are never too far away to help with any issues you might have. They were incredibly kind and helpful and ensured we knew where local sites were and how best to get where we wanted to go. We opted in for the private chef, Oscar, who truly made this stay incredible. Three meals a day with a dessert for every dinner (see the photos on my google review for more). I will never forget that mango cheesecake… it’s going to be in my dreams til the day I die. Homemade takes on a new meaning after you try Oscar’s dishes. He is definitely going to be missed when we have to step back into reality. We also went snorkeling and Caye hopping with Adventours with Jason. I never knew swimming with sharks was on my bucket list, but now I feel like I checked off something I can boast about for years to come. Don’t forget to get that fresh pineapple, it makes the pineapple in the states pale in comparison.

Everyone we worked with at Gecko was amazing, from pre-trip planning to onsite staff it was all top notch. Can't wait to go back!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Villa Vaya Vista where my family of 5 spent 8 lovely days. First off, the villa itself is even more amazing than the pictures show. There are beautiful views from the lagoon in every single room and the outdoor dining and hangout space is top notch. We spent endless hours relaxing by the pool and playing games on the beach area. I was originally hesitant to book because I thought we'd rather be on the ocean but I'm very happy that we decided to stay here instead. The lagoon was so peaceful, it was much less windy and there was no smell of sargassum like there is on the ocean side. The walk from the villa to the ocean is probably 3 minutes, so no big deal. Our cook, Salvadore, had meals for us 4 of the days and they were all excellent. Having to not cook once single time on the entire trip was definitely a highlight for me! We really enjoyed Rise for smoothies and ice cream multiple times which was just a quick golf cart ride away. Azure Del Mar across the street was wonderful for lunch/dinner and cocktails as well. Lastly, (but certainly not least) Olmar and Cindy, the property caretakers, went above and beyond in every way possible. They were kind, personable, and took wonderful care of us and the property every single day. I wouldn't hesitate to book at any property they were working at! In all honesty, I have not even one single negative thing to say about our stay here and won't hesitate to book again next time we come to Belize!
