Quiet. Beautiful landscape. Many lovely walks in the area. Attractions such as Blair Castle, House of Bruar, Scone Palace, Aberfeldy Distillery, Pitlochry, Perth, Stirling within easy reach.

House is nice but is coming of age and needs to be refreshed in several parts. Cleanliness also needs to be improved: sticky surfaces, staines on carpet and furniture. Bathroom needs renovation.

The location, the house, itself the view of the castle out the window, the neighbors, the beautiful potato fields, the deer and rabbits in the field, the front patio garden, the bird song, no stairs, proximity to Aberfeldy (a lovely little town). We were two older sisters and it was just right for us!

The host (not on site) left directions for us to clean all the surfaces we touched before leaving, but when you step in the door, the carpets and upholstery are visibly dirty. The directions for operating the clothes washer and the cooker (oven and range) were inadequate or missing. We used Google, but even that wasn't always clear for us (from the USA). She did answer calls and responded to emails when we were trying to find clothes pins to hang the washed clothing, etc .We could have asked more questions truthfully, but it was embarrassing and we felt like idiots. We read all the information she left for us, and understood why she needed us to wipe things down when she left. But some visitors might not read all of it and might not understand.

The location is stunning. The enclosed courtyard and garden are perfect for children and pets. The cottage had everything you need go a comfortable stay and the surrounding area has so many lovely walks and things to see.

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but that’s mainly down to our age and back problems! Must remember to bring my own pillow!
