There are numerous hiking and biking trails here that are perfect for rest and relaxation. We highly recommend visiting the nearby Altenberg Cathedral, an imposing 12th-century church.
Getting to Cologne is also quick and easy. By car, it takes about 5 minutes to reach the city limits and about 30 minutes to get to downtown. Alternatively, you can use public transportation. There is a bus service to Cologne that runs regularly. The trip takes about 45 minutes
The Cologne Trade Fair is also easily accessible. By car, it takes about 25–30 minutes to reach the fairgrounds. There is a direct S-Bahn connection from Schildgen to Cologne-Deutz/Messe. The trip takes about 40–45 minutes. From there, it’s just a short walk to the fairgrounds.

It was a very good Option for our Family of three. Very clean and spacious and ideal for us since we were visiting family and the apartment was very near to them.
What i was missing was curtains (privacy) since there were none, and the living room of the apartment is facing a Main Street. And behind the bedroom there is a terrace part of another house, so I was missing privacy.
The TV had no reception, it wasn’t no bad since we spend most of the time outside but with a child is always good to have an entertainment plan.
The day of the check out was no hot water at 7 am and we didn’t have the time to call the landlord and wait to get it working
Public transportation and buying groceries was very near

The advert absolutely does not correspond to the accommodation
The apartment we rented is charming but in no way corresponds to the photos.
Leak when we arrived in the entrance (fridge turned off). Leak in the bathroom flowing into the bedroom. A broom is missing, for example.
