In addition to being historically one of Madrid's most traditional residential areas, Canillejas is currently one of the sectors with the most development in Madrid, thanks to the tranquillity it offers its residents, its interesting real estate and commercial offering and its close location to strategic places in the city such as Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and the IFEMA Madrid fairground.

It is a residential neighbourhood that borders the Quinta de Torre Arias park, a landscaped space populated with almond and cedar trees that surround a century-old palace. In the area there is also Canillejas park, which has an open-air auditorium where music concerts and cultural festivals are held; and the famous Metropolitano Stadium, the training base of Atlético Madrid, one of the best teams in Spain.

Likewise, this area has a quick and comfortable connection with Madrid's city centre and the rest of the city thanks to the Canillejas bus interchange and the Torre Arias and Canillejas metro stations (direct line to Gran Vía).
