Seaforth Country House

There was much to love. The hostess was incredible. It was easy to see why she had been complimented by so many people. Caring, interested, engaged. Here staff were equally good. The venue was also beautiful, old school home with a rich sense of history about it.

Unfortunately, we found that the pool was under construction on arrival. I understand why we weren't informed prior to our visit but it still felt a little unfair. Added to this were the construction noises that were "part of the deal". Unfortunate ... I love peace and quiet on a weekend away. Internet was "iffy" at first but our hostess offered and alternative which worked well.

Gill was really nice, the room is incredible and the breakfast is something you must not miss!

Gill and Brad and Trevor and Charnene were all wonderful hosts. Sadly we arrived in pouring rain for our 4 day stay and Gill very kindly upgraded us to a bigger unit which was very comfortable and much appreciated. The decor of the unit was very pleasing on the eye and had everything we needed and more. The breakfasts were very varied and served either inside in wet weather or out on the deck with beautiful views, once the weather cleared. Our spotlessly clean unit was well serviced each day while we were having breakfast, which was very convenient. The guesthouse is well situated with regard to local amenities and yet maintains a very secluded position. Gill is great at advising about local attractions and obviously loves her interaction with guests. The gardens are stunning, the dogs friendly and the outlook over the sea a bonus. We chatted to Trevor who is very knowledgeable about the history of the home, birding and anything to do with the garden. His bird feeding invention is a masterstroke. By the way, his banana bread rusks provided in the rooms are quite exceptional. The staff are very friendly and helpful We would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a relaxed place in which to destress. Thank you for a very soul restoring break.
