Quiet, homely, beautifully decorated in a traditional Newari building. Himans and Ashish were so friendly and helpful.

This was an extremely welcoming stay, in a well appointed, character property. I’m v grateful to all of the staff, including the Manager and lead receptionist. Patan is also a great choice for a more authentic cultural experience than central Kathmandu.

Some of the furniture and bathroom could be upgraded

The property is located in Patan, just outside of Kathmandu city center. I planned to stay there specifically to avoid the noise, busyness, and tourist congestion of Thamel. It met my needs almost perfectly. The property is lovely, old, and well-maintained. My room was large, very clean, and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were especially well-outfitted to meet my needs. The bed, air conditioner, and safety of the room made me feel very comfortable and rested during my stay. Breakfast each morning was excellent and the two young men who seemed to do everything on the property were excellent, so helpful, and made me feel like family.

There were a few minor things that could be improved to make these lodgings perfect. When I arrived, I had to defrost the freezer to be able to use it. Also, the door into and out of my room stuck, even when unlocked, making it a mystery as to whether I would be able to enter and exit my room at times. Finally, there were a few plumbing issues that interfered with me getting hot water several nights. I was able to use another room to shower, but this was a mild inconvenience.

Porridge for breakfast was excellent. Breakfast very good in a pleasant garden.

Was put in a room that didn't match the photos. Door lock needs replacing, desk light not working in a dark corner where its really needed to make the space usable, rug dirty, dusty room. Also construction site next door for plenty of noise throughout the day. Not sure how much longer until finished. It's a sizeable place with many rooms so requested room change but denied despite only one other family there at the time. Staff friendly and very apologetic but do not have authority to do anything. We checked out and stayed in a place twice as good for less money in a much better location. Showed that the value for this venue is not there. Bewildered how highly rated this place is/was. The walk to Durbar Square is only 5 minutes but along a noisy and busy road with plenty of carbon monoxide results in making the short walk feel a lot longer than it is.
